"Gimme a Break" takes place in Glenlawn, California. The chief of police(Carl Kanisky) asks a friend of his wife(Nell Harper) to come and keep house and take care of his children, after their mother had died. The stories on the show revolve around Nell, the Cheif and the three girls, as they grow up. The stories of the show are also influenced by Simpson, Addy, Joey, and Grandpa.
